The Keyz are an original Band from the small Oxfordshire town of Banbury. Starting from humble beginnings in 2004, they soon gathered a small, but loyal following of fans, thanks to their undefinable and original sound.
Encouraged by their reception wherever they played, The Keyz decided to record their first EP, Superstar Gazer. The critically acclaimed short-album of four original songs, was enough to spark interest in the local music scene.
The completion of an Unplugged Session at BBC Radio Oxford confirmed the band’s audible love for music, and inspired the recording of The Keyz first full length studio album, A Way of Life. Written, Produced and Recorded by themselves, the album surprised many with its professional studio sound and upbeat, uncommercial approach to song writing and recording.
With influences spanning the ages; from ‘60s Rock’n’Roll to ‘70s Punk. Early ‘80s Progressive Rock to the Instrumental & Hard Rock of the ‘90s, and inevitably leading to the Alternative Rock & Indie Music of the ‘00s, The Keyz aren't defined by any one genre. Their music is written from the heart, and performed with passion & soul.
Now, after a break to explore individual ventures, The Keyz are back and better than ever! From the Classic Crunchy sounds of Fan Favourites such as, ‘Selling Kisses’, ‘Overcomplicated’ and ‘Don’t Let Go’, to their atmospheric new material including, ‘Looking In’, ‘All or Nothing’, ‘Dying Embers’ and ‘Best of Me’… There really is no denying that The Keyz are back, and here to stay!

Useless Fact: Carrots were originally Purple.
Why I started: In my early teens I became increasingly interested in and influenced by music, and in particular drums, drummers and drumming. It's an age old story, but I actually started off playing on upturned pots and pans with wooden spoons and pastry brushes! I saved up my pocket money and bought my first pair of sticks, and then, as an early Christmas present, Mum bought me my first drum kit. Very quickly, we formed a band at school, and nearly twenty years later, it is now, and I'm sitting here writing this!
Age: 34 and 3/4s
Started playing: 1993
Influences and shit: After becoming obsessed with The Monkees' Daydream Believer and discovering how to put the needle back to the start of the 7 inch single at the age of 3, i soon found myself rooting through family members record collections and discovering the likes of Rush, Hendrix, Van Halen, The Kinks, ZZ Top and more. This then led to discovering bands such as Guns 'n' Roses, Metallica and Ugly Kid Joe in the pages of Kerrang, before it went wank. I decided at the age of 13 to learn to play guitar, inspired by Slash, EVH and Hendrix, and that was that!
Age: The Youngest. That is all.
From: Somewhere with fields.
Why I started: With 6 Siblings I had to find some way to prove I was the best. I succeeded.
Musical Fact: An octave up is a doubling of frequency.
Useless Fact: Anthology due soon.......
